Crif acquires digital onboarding and biometric recognition firm Inventia

Crif acquires digital onboarding and biometric recognition firm Inventia

Crif announced it has finalized the purchase of all shares in Inventia, a digital onboarding, video biometric recognition and video collaboration service company that develops Phygital 4X software technology.

Crif managing director Enrico Lodi will take on the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Inventia.

Crif first started buying shares in March 2019. With the purchase of the entire company, Crif will boost its digital onboarding solution portfolio to deliver an enhanced, faster customer experience for credit institutions, insurance companies, utilities and telcos, and their end-users.

Crif has leveraged Inventia’s technology to create its ‘Omnichannel Smart Onboarding’ platform for credit processes to speed up user experience in the ‘phygital’ (physical + digital) interaction, streamline digital experience and provide compliance with KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations and other customer authentication and identification legislation.

Inventia creates a phygital experience because it leverages its tech expertise to merge artificial intelligence, biometrics, identity recognition, video engagement, remote collaboration and digital signature technologies for more online conversions of solutions recently restricted by legislation or high complexity.

Processes such as video recognition to open bank accounts or biometric recognition for identification will create opportunity to broaden sales channels, the company says.

Last month Spanish biometrics company FacePhi acquired Ecertic to grow its presence in the digital onboarding sector, and today BioCatch revealed it purchased AimBrain to strengthen its position in the digital identity market.
