Panasonic i-PRO Sensing Solutions

Panasonic Security Group has released an upgraded version of its Video Insight Video Management System (VMS) with redaction for face biometrics, and has changed the name of its U.S. business to Panasonic i-PRO Sensing Solutions, also known as i-PRO, the company announced.

The Video Insight VMS platform leverages a plug-in architecture with versatile programmable features and integrates with the i-PRO MonitorCast Access Control platform for scalable system management.

“Video Insight is truly an integrated system solution that combines surveillance and access control onto a unified platform,” said Bill Brennan, President, Panasonic i-PRO Sensing Solutions Corporation of America, in a prepared statement. “This latest release of Video Insight includes new smart sensor detection and privacy protection capabilities to address trending issues challenging today’s security professionals.”

Some of the feature upgrades in Video Insight include an integrated smart sensor for vape use and environmental impurities detection, support for Intel 9th generation server chipsets, VI-TV+ client to support Apple TV media boxes, and facial recognition redaction to blur faces on video footage used in forensic investigations for privacy protection, among others.

VI-TV+ enhancements include an updated user interface, H.264 and H.265 support for live and recorded video, upgraded search feature, user favorites feature, 360-degree fish eye camera de-warping, and performance and stability improvements.

Panasonic also released a facial recognition API for the Japanese market in late-2019.
