Ideal Innovations adds online facial examination classes to training portfolio

Biometrics and forensic technology developer Ideal Innovations (I-3) has launched two online facial examination classes for individuals working from home or who cannot travel, the company announced.

Since 2015, I-3 has been delivering a five-day technical course on facial examination training that provides attendees with a deep dive into the science behind facial recognition technology. Due to the growing remote workforce following the coronavirus pandemic, I-3 has added two online courses: Overview of Facial Examination and Introduction to Facial Examination.

Overview of Facial Examination is a four-hour introduction about the principles of facial identification, while Introduction to Facial Examination is a more detailed, 16-hour course on the main components of facial examination. The courses are live to encourage communication between students and instructors.

“Our facial examination courses have been recognized as some of the best in the U.S. and internationally. Our instructors have taught week-long courses in four other countries,” said CEO, Bob Kocher, in a prepared statement. “Now with these online courses, we can train a significant number of students at a lower cost and without requiring student travel.”

The courses are available for both individuals and organizations. Those interested can sign up online at i3face.com/online.

In November, Ideal Innovations added a specialized Police Chiefs and Administrators Course meant for executives, non-technical policymakers and communications professionals, a two-day Facial Examination Introductory Course to cover the basic elements of facial examination, and a two-day Facial Examination Refresher Course that distills the most important elements of I-3’s five-day technical offering.
