Medallia buys speech-to-text and voice biometrics developer Voci Technologies

Experience management company Medallia has finalized the purchase of speech-to-text platform developer Voci Technologies, the company announced.
Voci Technologies leverages AI, deep learning speech recognition capabilities and a team of scientists to accurately transcribe customer calls. The integration with Medallia Experience Cloud optimizes customer experience and makes operations more efficient, according to the announcement. The combined technology performs sentiment analysis, gender identification, and it recognizes and analyzes voice biometric identity.
“We are delighted to complete the acquisition of Voci, they have a unique technology and a talented team,” said Leslie Stretch, chief executive officer at Medallia, in a prepared statement. “The growth of critical data from call centers is another significant signal we have added to our experience management platform to help companies and government agencies understand customer expectations and sentiment in the moment.”
Voci Technologies’ headquarters will remain in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The voice biometrics market has been projected to reach $3.9 billion by 2026.
