Alcatraz AI announced another milestone as its Information Security Management System (ISMS) is now ISO/IEC 27001:2013 compliant. The certification ensures that the security controls and IT security policies that power the company’s biometric access control systems meet international standards for information system security.

The company’s ISMS was certified after a third-party audit conducted by A-lign, an ANAB accredited auditing firm. Alcatraz AI’s systems were tested against several requirements that include information security policies, cryptography, human resource security, operations security, and security incident management. Furthermore, Alcatraz’s face biometrics-based access control, access management, physical and environmental security, as well as their communications security were tested. A-lign also certified that the company’s team follows best practices as laid out by ISO 27001.

Alcatraz AI founder and CEO Vince Gaydarzhiev praised the latest accreditation. “The Alcatraz team is proud to have achieved ISO 27001 certification as it validates our commitment to safeguarding the sensitive information involved in developing and delivering autonomous access control. Our customers and partners can rest assured that our processes not only meet the highest international standards for information security, but it’s our mission to exceed them.”

Alcatraz AI offers biometric access systems that allow clients to augment or forego traditional badging with touchless authentication methods such as facial recognition.
