Indonesia renews national ID support contract with InterBio

Indonesia has renewed its annual technical support contract for the country’s national digital identity infrastructure.

It has awarded the 2026 agreement to a consortium that includes PT International Biometrics Indonesia (InterBio), a wholly owned subsidiary of TOTM Technologies.

The award continues a pattern in place since 2017, with the same consortium providing year‑on‑year support for the core systems behind Indonesia’s national ID program.

“The award of the ATS contract and additional ABIS licenses underscores the continued trust placed in InterBio to maintain Indonesia’s foundational National ID system,” said Pierre Prunier, Executive Director of TOTM Technologies.

The Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) at the Ministry of Home Affairs issued the latest contract, valued at approximately IDR79.1 billion (US$6.08 million), which covers a 12-month period.

The scope includes maintenance, operational support and technical services for Indonesia’s national ID system. This underpins identity verification across government services, financial institutions and public sector programs.

The contract also includes the issuance of additional licences for the country’s automated biometric identification system (ABIS), with consortium partner Indonesia Comnets Plus (IconPlus) acting as InterBio’s reseller.

Indonesia’s national ID system is one of the world’s largest biometric civil registries, and the ATS contract forms part of the ongoing operational backbone required to keep the platform functional, updated and interoperable.

The renewal shows continued reliance on the InterBio–IconPlus consortium to maintain the infrastructure that supports authentication, deduplication and population‑scale identity management.
