Precise Biometrics receives award for fingerprint software

Precise Biometrics announced that its fingerprint software, Precise BioMatch Mobile, has been rewarded with the 2015 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Leadership.

Precise BioMatch Mobile provides fingerprint authentication for smartphones and tablets.

Last year, the fingerprint software was integrated in the world’s first Android smartphone with a touch fingerprint sensor.

“Precise Biometrics is a leader in fingerprint biometrics for the global mobile device market, and its fingerprint technology, which offers superior convenience and security, is critical for mobile device manufactures to ensure the transition to the new authentication paradigm,” said Nandini Bhattacharya, senior research analyst at Frost & Sullivan.

In a separate announcement, Precise Biometrics revealed that CFO Bo-Göran Jaxelius has resigned from his position due to personal reasons.

Jaxelius’ resignation comes just eight months after he joined Precise Biometrics as CFO.

Bo-Göran Jaxelius will fulfill his duties until he officially leaves the company in the summer. Precise Biometrics has begun the process of finding Jaxelius’ successor.

“Bo-Göran Jaxelius has done a great job for the company,” said Precise Biometrics CEO Håkan Persson. “I am sorry to see him leaving Precise Biometrics, but understand and respect his decision to give priority to his family.”
