Precise Biometrics lands Tactivo order from U.S. defense department

Precise Biometrics announced it has received an additional order for Tactivo smartcard readers from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) within the US Department of Defense.

The move comes a few months after Precise Biometrics received an order of 1,200 Tactivo smartcard readers from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) within the US Department of Defense.

The total value of the order is 920.000 SEK (USD$105,462), which will impact Precise Biometrics’ third quarter revenues 2015 with the full amount.

DLA continues to invest in their mobility solution that provides secure e-mail and browsing capabilities on iOS devices.

The solution is based on the existing Common Access Card (CAC) infrastructure and adds to the overall usability of the smart card system.

This marks the third consecutive order that has been placed through Precise Biometrics’ partner Carahsoft.

“We are pleased to see that DLA are following up on their previous orders and continue to develop their Tactivo based solution,” said Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics. “This shows their confidence and commitment to Tactivo for convenient and secure mobile access to information systems and resources. The solution increases employee flexibility and efficiency, while ensuring a high level of security by utilizing two-factor authentication.”
