Suprema releases major update for its biometric security platform

Suprema announced it has released BioStar 2.1, the latest major update to its web-based IP access control management software.

BioStar 2.1 follows up the March release of BioStar 2, a platform which seamlessly integrates biometric technology with an enhanced security solution.

This latest update provides users with several new features and tools for developers to create a unique and ideal solution suitable for various system requirements.

The platform is co-released with four additional solutions, cindlugin BioStar 2 Mobile, BioStar 2 Cloud, BioStar 2 API and BioStar 2 Device SDK, all of which are designed to maximize user convenience and expand development potential.

BioStar 2.1 is available in basic and standard editions, with the basic edition including core biometric user management features and basic access control features.

The new update to the basic edition improves usability by including support for BioStar 2 Cloud and filtering options in its monitoring functionality.

The standard edition expands the access control module with new advanced access control features such as anti-passback and fire alarm.

The BioStar 2 Mobile App, which is available for both iOS and Android mobile platforms, provides further convenience. Using the built-in BioStar 2 Cloud extension, users can use BioStar 2 Mobile to access a local server remotely and perform various operations.

Using the app, system administrators are able to perform user-related tasks, receive live notifications, control doors remotely and monitor current system activities on any mobile device.

The BioStar 2 API provides further development support in the form of a web application programming interface that will allow developers to seamlessly integrate BioStar 2 core functionalities with third party software.

The API comprises of restful APIs, which use JSON formatted data for requests and responses for easier understanding.

Finally, the BioStar 2 Device SDK enables developers to create new applications or solutions for customers. The SDK is also available for access to core functionalities built into Suprema devices.
