MorphoTrust wins award for its secure credential manufacturing process

MorphoTrust USA (Safran) announced it has been rewarded with the 2016 CSO50 Award for its secure credential production facilities and processes.

The awards recognize MorphoTrust for it ability to connect security initiatives to business value with its certified driver license manufacturing facilities.

MorphoTrust will accept the award at the CSO50 Conference + Awards held on April 18-20, 2016, at the Wigwam Resort in Arizona.

The company aims to achieve the highest levels of security certification possible from the North American Security Product Organization (NASPO) for the facilities where the driver licenses are produced.

The Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) pilot program is testing MorphoTrust mobile driver license (mDL) app for smartphones, which features PIN, fingerprint and facial recognition authentication technologies.

In addition to PIN and fingerprint-based security features already integrated into the smartphones used in the pilot, the mDL app also offers MorphoTrust facial recognition unlock technologies enabling users to authenticate themselves by taking a selfie and typing in a custom PIN.

MorphoTrust has the most NASPO certified ID production facilities in the world, with two of its six facilities achieving Class I certification for its dedication to security and the ability to control many levels of security risk.

“The CSO50 Award is an important validator of the hard work the security team and manufacturing team have done to secure the production of U.S. driver licenses,” said Dennis Kallelis, chief security officer at MorphoTrust USA. “With this award, CSO recognizes the importance of securing the process of manufacturing the credentials that have become the American de facto proof of Identity.”

MorphoTrust says it is committed to every aspect of secure credentials, ranging from the initial design and security features through manufacturing and delivery to the end customer.

Earlier this year, MorphoTrust USA achieved ISO 14298 certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for superior security standards in its credential production process.
