Maldives acknowledged for biometric passports and border control system

Maldives Immigration has been acknowledged with the international IAIR Award for its epassport and egates system, which was supplied by German biometrics firm DERMALOG.

The IAIR award was given to government officials from Maldives Immigration during an official award ceremony held last week in Milan, Italy.

With 27 advanced security features, the Maldives epassport is one of the most secure and world leading security documents today. Furthermore, the new Maldives epassport has a highly secure polycarbonate data page with laser engraving, which is extremely durable and secure.

In combination with the latest electronic gates which automatically check passports as well as fingerprint and facial biometrics, Maldives Immigration has one of the most modern border control systems for their citizens in the world today.

Previously reported, DERMALOG recently demonstrated its fingerprint, face and iris recognition solutions as well as its multi-biometrics system for German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at CeBIT 2017.
