IP-based biometric product manufacturer Invixium has announced a distribution partnership with Genetec, which offers open architecture security and public safety solutions, to distribute Invixium biometric access control products through its certified global network of resellers.

Invixium’s IXM WEB management software and products have been integrated with Genetec Security Center’s access control software, Security Center Synergis to enable real-time two-way synchronization of user credentials when the biometric devices are connected to the access control panel through Wiegand. The integration also leverages the RIO protocol to allow Invixium biometric devices to act as edge controllers for doors, without need for a control panel, through direct communication with the Synergis Cloud Link appliance.

“This is the first integration with biometrics that utilizes the RIO protocol, which provides tremendous flexibility and scalability for our customers,” said Thibaut Louvet, Access Control Systems Director at Genetec. “The partnership is in line with our strategy of adding the top brands to the Genetec ecosystem, and we are excited to offer our customers a modern, cutting-edge technology that complements our existing architecture, delivering a truly versatile security solution for biometric access control.”

The integration of Synergis with IXM WEB eliminates the need to enter user data into two separate software applications, and having devices directly control access allows Genetec customers to reduce costs.

Invixium devices provide multi-spectral imaging, active thermal, and high-resolution optical fingerprint sensor technologies, and devices have been designed for performance in indoor or rugged outdoor environments. Products can also be mixed on the same network with full interoperability.

Genetec also recently formed a partnership with AnyVision to provide face and object recognition to its security system customers.
