Kairos facial biometrics to power personalized guest experiences for hospitality industry

Hospitality software developer Nuvola has partnered with Kairos to offer biometric facial recognition as part of an artificial intelligence-backed solution for personalized and expedited guest experiences from check-in to departure.

Nuvola says it is the first software hospitality company in the U.S. to offer facial recognition technology. The exclusive solution developed with Kairos is layered with added security features, and reduces wait times during transactions requiring name recognition, according to the announcement.

“Our mission is to bring new technologies to the world of hospitality that can be used as a solution to ease ongoing industry-wide focus points by enhancing operational aspects like security and providing a frictionless experience for each different guest touchpoint,” explains Nuvola CEO Juan Carlos Abello. “Facial recognition software is a game changer for the industry. By introducing Kairos by Nuvola into the guest journey, our customers will be able to create a heightened level of personalized service and open up a new realm of service options.”

The Kairos by Nuvola solution is intended to speed up check-in and check-out processes, reduce waiting time, enhance security, and elevate the overall guest experience. Kairos’ facial recognition will be integrated with Nuvola’s optimization system and supported by best-in-class security camera hardware, the companies say.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Nuvola to bring our software to the hospitality industry,” says Kairos Chief Operating Officer Mary Wolff. “We’re excited to see the hospitality industry leverage the benefits of facial recognition. Through our partnership with Nuvola, we’ll be ushering in a new era of innovation to improve and optimize the guest experience.”

Kairos launched its liveness detection capability to beta testing in April, shortly before settling its legal disputes with Founder Brian Brackeen.
