Acuant reports double-digit revenue and identity proofing growth, industry honors in 2019

Acuant has registered consecutive positive results and record growth in 2019, the company announced.

“We have seen an increase in demand for omnichannel identity verification to prevent and thwart fraud globally, across all industries. Companies want to know who they are transacting with more than ever in the digital era,” said Yossi Zekri, President and CEO. “Acuant serves to build solutions that solve for identity proofing and allow ease of use for consumers. Striking the balance between security, data privacy and user experience is integral in all we do.”

In 2019, Acuant released new products to market including Acuant Face, equipped with three classes of biometric facial recognition and liveness detection, Acuant Review which offers secure manual review of identity document images, and InfinitID, a device for ID scanning and authentication. Future plans for 2020 include expanding the portfolio with web and mobile-focused products.

In Q4 2019, Acuant enhanced the image capture and biometric liveness test capabilities, core features in its Acuant AssureID and Acuant Face products.

The past year for the company was also marked by management changes. Kevin O’Connor joined Acuant as chief financial officer and Sanjay Nichani joined the team as vice president of Computer Vision and Machine Learning Initiatives.

“AI has disrupted how we solve problems in document forensics and biometric verification, and I look forward to continuing and extending the legacy of Acuant’s technology leadership in the identity verification market,” Nichani said.

The company’s identity verification solutions were recently recognized in the Gartner report titled Modernizing IAM Architecture With Machine Learning. Acuant was named Gold winner of the 2019 IT World Awards, ranking first in the Company of the Year: Security Services category and silver in the Identity and Access Management as a Service (IDaaS) category. The company was also included in the 2019 identity landscape by One World Identity (OWI).
