Crossmatch biometric solution being used for German refugee management
Crossmatch announced that Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge (BAMF), the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, has deployed its Guardian fingerprint scanner to enroll the biometrics of thousands of refugees and migrants entering Germany.
BAMF has already purchased over 1,000 Guardian devices that are deployed at more than 36 field offices where refugees are fingerprinted as part of the asylum application processing.
Using Guardian, all refugees’ fingerprints are checked against the BAMF database to verify identity and improve tracking, support administration and ensure accurate benefits disbursement.
Previously, the Guardian family of enrollment livescan devices have reliably and accuarely served critical identity authentication and enrollment applications which require high throughput and often have demanding conditions.
Since 2006, over 80,000 Guardians have been fielded to support crucial identity management applications throughout the world.
These deployments include the US VISIT program’s processing of foreign nationals applying for U.S. visas and when entering the United States at air ports of entry.

Previously reported, Crossmatch announced that Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council (MCHC) member hospitals have submitted over 120,000 new hire fingerprint background checks via the Crossmatch livescan solution.
