Bodet installs biometric time and attendance system at London retirement facility

Workforce management firm Bodet has installed its Kelio biometric self-service time and attendance management system at Battersea Place, a London, UK-based luxury retirement village and nursing facility, to help manage its over 75 employees.

In addition to providing highly accurate, customized staff attendance reports for HR, management and payroll departments, the biometric time and attendance system also helps management with employee engagement and empowerment duties.

According to Battersea Place, 60% of its employees are clinical, providing 24-hour care and emergency assistance for 100 apartments and 30 purpose-built nursing suites.

“Battersea Place is an exclusive retirement village, so we wanted the very best management systems in place to ensure we provide the highest quality of service for all our tenants and residents,” said Jonathon Leet, Lifecare Residences commissioning administrator. “We went for a computerised biometric system as this would streamline clocking in for all staff, and automate many of the processes, saving management time and eliminating paper reports. I knew from experience with a similar project in New Zealand that I was involved with, using swipe-cards or pin numbers to identify staff when they clocked can be inaccurate. Using biometric sensors ensures we always have real time data of who is on-site, night and day.”

The company’s Kelio Visio X7 biometric, interactive communication terminal is supported by Kelio Pro software which incorporates data extraction for payroll, planning, analytics and HR assistant modules.

Employees can now clock in or out by placing their finger onto the Kelio Visio X7 terminal reader, which contains a sensor that identifies each individual and creates a unique record which is stored on the master database in real time.

The system provides an accurate real time record of which staff members are on site, when they arrived and when they completed their shift, eliminating the need for employees to fill out timesheets

The system also allows staff who work offsite or at home to clock in remotely via the website, while supervisors and management can keep track of any staff absences or lateness directly from their PC.

Kelio Pro software generates real time tailored management reports to ensure that current and historic attendance information can be easily accessed, as well as provides proof of staffing levels which may be required for Care Quality Commission audits.

The terminal’s touch screen features an intuitive display panel which allows employees to interact with their own personnel record, send and receive personal messages, and review their attendance record and remaining holiday allocation.

Last month, Bodet introduced the Kelio Visio X4, a more cost effective option of the Kelio Visio X7 interactive time and attendance terminal.
