Token releases biometric security key

Token releases biometric security key

Biometric wearable maker Token has released a new line of physical security keys for multifactor authentication (MFA) to complement its biometric smart ring.

The Token BioKey is built with a capacitive fingerprint sensor for on-device biometric verification. It also contains an EAL5+ certified secure element for safe storage and use of FIDO credentials.

The New York-based startup released the product during the Identiverse conference in Las Vegas this week.

The BioKey series includes two models, with the basic one offering only USB connectivity. The Plus model has USB, Bluetooth and NFC connections and includes a USB-rechargeable battery that powers the radio functions. The devices are compatible with major Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Single Sign-On (SSO) platforms, including Microsoft, Cisco Duo, Okta, Google and Ping, the firm says in a release.

“By combining biometric authentication with flexible connectivity options and centralized management, we’re providing organizations with a scalable solution to combat phishing and other cyber threats,” says Rob Osterwise, Token’s chief technology officer and vice president of R&D.

Last year, Token made a splash with its MFA Token Ring, featuring a high-resolution 508 DPI capacitive fingerprint sensor, NFC and Bluetooth. The company said that almost 200 organizations joined the waitlist for the product.
