SAFR and VSBLTY face biometrics deployed for crowd customer safety and insights

Partnerships on facial recognition and computer vision technologies have been formed by RealNetworks and VSBLTY, and Patriot One has announced a contract win for its video analytics platform. Public health concerns in the context of COVID-19 appear to be combining with demand for customer or visitor identification and insight to drive new deployments in the space.

SAFR from RealNetworks has partnered with German tech company G2K Group to integrate facial recognition, mask detection, person detection and demographic analysis within the Parsifal AI video analytics platform.

The combination of SAFR mask detection and Parsifal’s body temperature scanning capability were key features earning G2K a contract win for screening spectators attending the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Super Cup Final 2020. The UEFA Super Cup Final 2020, held in Budapest during September, was the first deployment of the combined technology. More than 15,000 spectators attended the final under the required health and safety conditions.

The high performance of SAFR on live video makes it a natural fit for integration with Parsifal to inform its real-time insights for improved general surveillance, behavioral predictions, access control and health and safety measures related to COVID-19, the companies say.

“SAFR from RealNetworks’ partnership with G2K Group is characterized by the innovation, quality, and professionalism of both companies. SAFR’s computer vision features add critical data to the Parsifal platform enhancing the overall video analytics offering and unlocking new customer use cases such as mask detection,” says RealNetworks SVP for EMEA and LATAM Jose Larrucea.

VSBLTY partners with Peerless-AV for retail analytics with facial recognition

VSBLTY’s machine learning and computer vision technologies including face biometrics have been chosen by Peerless-AV to integrate the companies’ solutions and services for enhanced customer engagement and audience measurement.

Peerless-AV is a designer and manufacturer of audio and video solutions and accessories.

“Our industry-leading VisionCaptor and DataCaptor software that combines motion graphics and interactive brand messaging with cutting-edge computer analytics will be incorporated into Peerless-AV digital signage kiosks,” states VSBLTY Co-founder and CEO Jay Hutton. “Not only does DataCaptor report demographics like gender, age range and sentiment, but it also gathers key analytics including dwell time, total views, unique visitors, percent looking at the screen, content interaction, as well as footfall traffic and heat maps detailing highest traffic times by day and hour.”

“VSBLTY technology will enrich our outdoor and indoor, integrated digital signage kiosks that we provide for retail, casino, corporate, healthcare and entertainment and sports venues around the world,” stated Nick Belcore, Executive Vice President of Peerless-AV. “In addition, VSBLTY’s AI-driven software, Vector will enable us to provide the advanced facial and object recognition capabilities that are so crucial to enhancing today’s security requirements.”

Belcore also noted the importance of VSBLTY’s capability to identify individuals alone or in crowds as belonging to a list of persons of interest or as an opt-in participant of loyalty programs, such as at a casino or retailer.

Patriot One deploying to Vegas casino

The Plaza Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has selected the PATSCAN Multi-Sensor Threat Detection Platform from Patriot One to carry out threat detection, body temperature measurement, and face mask detection.

The company has seen an increase in interest for its solutions with resorts and casinos reopening since the commercialization of its platform this summer, Patriot One President and COO Dietmar Wennemer says in the announcement. Deployment will begin this quarter.

Patriot One has also engaged Winning Media to run targeted digital media and corporate brand recognition initiatives, according to the announcement.
